Presented with a tableau prompt in my second year of college, I was tempted to tell a grand story through still images, but as the project deadline approached, the intended grandiose nature of the images I took was not coming across. Left without any ideas on where to go, the empty feeling built and built inside of me, and I needed to do something about it. And thus began an extended project that has come up and gone away multiple times since. While each image tells a separate story, the feeling of something missing remains constant throughout each of them. While this project focuses on the feeling of loss and isolation, the process of finding new locations that can tell a contained story was something that brought me closer to my community and those around me.
